American Hardcore

A great music documentary on this years Istanbul Film Festival is American Hardcore, which portraits the Hardcore Punk scene during 1980 and 1986 with interviews and concert footage. Although there’s a lot of criticism to the movie because it isolates the whole movement and doesn’t speak of the LA punk movement before 1980’s and the 2nd generation hardcore bands after 1986, it remains a must see documentary, perhaps only to see Ian Mac Kaye from Minor Threat and all the guys from the 80’s scene. For more criticism and a few pointers to what was left out, read IMDB’s comments.
